A CLANDESTINE PLACE, A CHEF AND 30 DINERS
Foodies on tour BCN is a pop-up experience that has already had two editions. This was the second: The secret: a clandestine place, a chef and 30 people who love the unknown, ready to enjoy a gastronomic experience around a single table. All prepared with great care and with a kitchen based on the products of proximity.
The day began with the guests arriving at the secret place with a classic car (a SEAT 600, very famous in the 60s) of the Catalan beer brand Moritz, one of the participating brands of the event. The participants did not know yet where they were going or what would happen to them.
In Catalonia, at the time of the appetizer (called vermut), it has become fashionable to put on chip potatoes a sauce called Espinaler, a brand of canned fish that participated too in The Secret.
The concert: Desiree Diouf. This singer from Italian mother and Senegalese father (renowned musician Jean Ngoor Maack) has been living in Barcelona for five years, during which he has demonstrated his versatility and ability to thrill the audience with his performances in soul music, jazz , funk, reggae, bag or, even, experimental electronic music.
And when the appetizer finished, the big surprise arrived: an entered a room decorated with candles, with plants hanging from the ceiling, with tableware, and precious glasses. And the symphony of the senses began.
They were the ones who made the dream of The Secret come true.
Companies of great prestige in the world of gastronomy in Catalonia participated in The Secret like Mascaró, Carpier Ahumados, illyand Abanik Rent & Events. In addition, on the table we found some very singular details, the pieces of the handmade glassware workshop by Eduard Garuti, Espinaler, El Forn de Can Puig, Cheeses Murgó, Del Pagès a Casa i Moritz.
